Dec. 15th, 2006 @ 11:40 am Jesus in my taco
the LA Times has an interesting story this morning on how we're hard-wired to see religious figures in our food.

My favorite part:
"The church encourages Christians to see the face of Christ in the homeless, the poor, the destitute and the immigrant — not in a plate of pasta," said Tod Tamberg, a spokesman for the Archdiocese of LosAngeles. "Imagine showing up on your judgment day in front of God, and he says, 'Where did you see me? Did you see me in the poor and the immigrant and the homeless?' And you say, 'Well, no, but I did see you in a piece of chocolate once.' Doesn't sound so good, does it?"

This is really too good not to blog about: Canada offers up to 15 free glasses of wine or sherry to the homeless. While incidents with the law went down 51 percent and ER visits down 36 percent, this part is definitely my favorite:
"Three of the 17 participants died during the program, succumbing to alcohol-related illnesses that might have killed them anyway, the study said."

Ball State tops list of most un-wired campuses

Ball State making it to the top of any positive list of universities nationwide is pretty eventful.

Kudos to you, Ball State. And thanks for the wireless.

This is neat: This guy posted 50,000 speech bubble stickers over New York City posters, ads, and signs, and went back to photograph the results. Some of these are really funny, some not so much, but it's an interesting project anyway.
